An Outstanding First Quarter Show!

It was a great first show for the 2023/24 lesson year at Wheatland Farm! With many brand-new show riders, and all achieving 65% or higher, it was a testament to the hard work of riders, ponies, and teachers for the first quarter. Warm-up began at 5 p.m., with the first division of riders in the ring, learning to navigate the busy arena while ensuring their horses and ponies were well-focused for their tests.

The show ran on time, missing just one participant who has always been with us- our show secretary, Miss Melissa- still recovering from a severely broken leg. In her stead, we were grateful to have Mrs. Paula Hamm on scribing, Mrs. Patti Rasmussen on scoring, while Mrs. Jen Carr Connor worked hard at the barn, turning out horses and ponies in tip-top shape. Coaches Abby Brassard and Anthony Forrest performed the ring steward, test caller, and technical delegate tasks!

Running on time, the show concluded at 7.10 p.m., scores were calculated, and ribbons were awarded before a happy crowd of riders took home their ribbons and tests, with comments and scores to review with their coaches at their next lesson.

Our next show will be on January 25th, after Quarter 2. We also look forward to hosting a schooling jumper show soon, so watch for that! Congratulations all for a beautiful end to our first quarter. On to Q2, we go!
