Spring into '24: Lots Blossoming at Wheatland Farm!

While the big snowfall predictions didn't quite come through this winter, we've had a whirlwind of weather at the farm lately! It's been a wild ride from rainstorms to gusty winds and frosty mornings. But sunny days are finally making a comeback!

Our resilient lesson students have been absolute troopers, braving the elements week after week. When the weather turned sour, we turned it into an opportunity for some barn bonding time. Grooming, tack-cleaning lessons, and Easter egg hunts on horseback at the indoor arena kept the spirits high, even when the wind was howling outside.

As reported in an earlier post, we were lucky enough to have the incredible Ana Matos Pires join us for two days of top-notch dressage instruction in February. Our jumper shows in February and March have also brought the local riding community out of hibernation, with riders of all levels jumping in to support our programs.

Lots more action is planned for the coming months! Get ready for a mouthwatering night out at Texas Roadhouse Ashburn on April 18th, where up to 25% of sales between 3 pm - 10 pm will go straight back to Wheatland Farm. It's the perfect excuse to grab some delicious grub and help a great cause. We would love to see you all out to enjoy dinner and have a bit of fun with our students and volunteers.

As our ponies enjoy a small rest over spring break and the Easter weekend, the fun ahead is just starting! Dressage Fix-A-Tests, schooling shows, and summer camps are all on the horizon. And don't forget about our Johnny Forrest Memorial Golf Tournament in June—it's shaping up to be the highlight of the season! Foursomes are selling out fast, so be sure to get registered to avoid disappointment. Our tourney will feature a shotgun start, a 19th-hole awards and dinner event, prizes, and much more.

Be sure to check out our Calendar page for all the upcoming events, and join us for one of our many fun and entertaining opportunities to support Wheatland Farm! See you soon!
