Para Dressage Program
Wheatland Farm is a recognized Para-Equestrian Dressage Center of Excellence by the United States Equestrian Federation and the United States Para-Equestrian Association.
Our equestrian center is dedicated to the development of para-dressage riders, from the very earliest stages of their equestrian education, to the highest levels of international competition.
Facility
Our facility is equipped with an indoor arena with heated viewing area, a full sized competition outdoor arena, and a robust para-horse development program for our equines.
Our Sure Hands automated lift allows our riders with paralysis, weakened joints or other physical challenges to mount and dismount our horses and ponies with maximum comfort and safety.
Instructors
Our instructors and support staff are highly qualified with certifications through United States Pony Club (USPC), United States Dressage Federation (USDF), United States Eventing Association (USEA), and/or Parelli Natural Horsemanship (PNH) and have extensive experience in therapeutic riding, the English disciplines, and special education.
Horses & Ponies
ALL horses and ponies are trained according to the principals of Parelli Natural Horsemanship, and ALL lesson horses and ponies are trained to AT LEAST a level 3 Online and Freestyle.
ALL horses and ponies are trained to AT LEAST Training Level in dressage, and most are schooling First Level. Several of our performance horses are schooling at or above 2nd Level dressage. This gives our students the very best opportunity to achieve excellence, either in their independent riding skills, or, benefitting from the exceptionally correct movement of our horses during their hippotherapy and therapeutic riding sessions.
ALL of the our horses and ponies are safe for beginners, most can be ridden by advanced riders.
ALL are trail and cross country trained and schooled.
